just a small update on what's going on at the moment or more what's going on in the next couple weeks :)

currently have over five people wanting and ready to be tattooed which should be happening sooner rather than later, all very exciting. will also be doing their designs for them which will be keeping me busy during the day.

i also saw my close friend jake today. myself and him are slowly setting up a rebranding consultancy business, where we help people set up and develop their companies or if necessary turn around the whole thing and change the brand itself. it's a really exciting venture and i know that it's got loads of potential and i'm hoping that it'll be something worthwhile and enjoyable :)

over the last week i've also decided that i want to be a lot healthier. i'm not fat, and i'm not unfit or unwell but i'm realising now that i'm not going to be young forever! i want to make sure that i start enjoying eating well and exercising now while i'm young so it becomes a pattern and habit for later life.

overall, i'm very excited for what the near (and far!) future has in store for me and the fact that this is all happening before university has even started has me psyched!

so after five years of being on deviantart, i have finally gotten around to getting a new account and sorting out my deviations etc. it's very refreshing starting a new account there. many a time i've had to delete and sort out my deviations on my old account but it never changed the fact that i had a lot of unwanted history there, as well as an user name that was no longer desirable.

so today i've spent on uploading new deviations, sorting out my profile and lurking the website a bit to get some favourites on my list. i've also done something that i never did with my old account and that's put up some of my deviations up for print! hopefully this will be worth the effort and someone will purchase one of my photos :]

it's all working towards getting my name out there and networking myself and my artwork.

so i'm currently drawing a design for a potential client, which is of an antique key. during some research of the different designs etc you can get with different types of keys, i almost found myself lost in these amazing images. to think that each key could open a door, or a lock on a diary or a chest of beautiful things. it's definitely got me feeling inspired today and i definitely think i'll have to integrate an old fashioned antique key into my design for my antique inspired sleeve. :)

so last night was the first time i've ever done a proper tattoo on human skin! yeah, i've done prison tattoos and i did two arrows on jim's chest with chris' gun, but it felt amazing to do one myself, with my equipment in my own environment. khan was an absolute angel, helping me through every step and being very brave, haha.

the rush i experienced from the whole thing was incredible and definitely distilled a real sense of meaning into it for me. like, this is my purpose and my dream. i have this same passion for graphic design and i've had it for a very long time, but this is something that i really feel millions for and can be just another side to my artistic self :]

i'm sure there will be many more tattoos to come. so keep an eye out.

rob dobi has been a massive inspiration for me for many years now. i've been following him and his work for a while now and been wishing for money to be able to buy his shirts. he was one of the first inspirations towards graphic design, vector images and some insane illustration. he also helped start my fascination with abandoned buildings and was an early influence into photography and the various different subjects involved.

new beginnings...

as i grow up and begin to enter the world of grown ups, it's about time i had a proper blog for inspiration, updates and glimpses into my world of graphic design, tattoos and lots more.

i'm excited for my future and i have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming few months and years of my life. in two months or so i'll be starting my degree course in graphic design, so i'll definitely make sure to keep you updated on how that goes :] but for now, i'm hoping to enjoy my summer, maybe get some freelance graphic design work, keep working on my tattooing skills and enjoy my well deserved time off.

here's to new beginnings and the start of something beautiful!
